Institut Français in Denmark and French Connection Academy are proud to present a unique concert taking place on 18 April 2024 at the French Embassy in Copenhagen. The concert, themed "Carl Nielsen in Paris," will offer an enchanting evening of classical repertoire from the period, performed by two award-winning musicians from the French Connection Academy.

About the Prize Winners
Mariam Mnatsakanyan (France) - Violin: Born in 2000 in Yerevan, Armenia, Mariam showed an early interest in playing the violin. Her parents moved to France in 2005 to support her musical dreams. Mariam started playing the violin in 2007 at the Conservatoire de Poitiers and has since won numerous awards. Her musical sensitivity and virtuosity have enchanted many audiences. Mariam plays a late 18th century Italian violin and a bow by A. Vigneron.
Astri Aareskjold (Sweden) - Piano: Astri Aareskjold, a Swedish/Norwegian pianist from Stockholm, has won prizes in several competitions, including the Stockholm International Music Competition. She is currently studying for her master's degree at Ingesund College of Music in Arvika, Sweden, under the guidance of prof. Julia Mustonen-Dahlkvist. Astri is known for her compelling dynamics, rhythm and transparency in her piano playing.

The skirt, made from the beautiful Silkeduchess fabric, was originally sewn for the Laugenes Fashion Show, where HRH Princess Benedikte is patron. Astri Aareskjold has won this exclusive and valuable gift, which she will wear during the concert.
About the French Connection Academy and their award concept: The French Connection Academy (FCA) was founded with the aim of creating cultural exchange between Denmark and France. The Academy is dedicated to building bridges between musicians from different countries and cultures, creating a dynamic learning environment. Although anchored in Danish-French co-operation, FCA is open to students of all nationalities.
