Artistes Voyageuses d’une rive à l’autre de la Méditerranée
Come and discover four women travelling artists who have sought their inspiration on the other side of the Mediterranean, in Algeria and Morocco.
Marie Lucas-Robiquet, Jeanne Thil, Marie Caire Tonoir and Virginie Demont-Breton benefited from a new context that, at the end of the 19th century, with the first feminist movements, encouraged women to assert themselves outside the domestic sphere, and promoted the image of a "new woman" in charge of her own destiny. Trained at the École des Beaux-Arts or in private academies, they acquired professional status, exhibited at fairs and at universal and colonial exhibitions.
As part of our "Fransk for en hund" concept, the ticket costs DKK 100 with a glass of wine included in the price.
The lecture will be given in easy-to-understand French.
