Copenhagen Light Festival 2024

The Copenhagen Light Festival is once again getting ready to celebrate light in the heart of winter. Among the sculptures and other light art installations, don't miss Les yeux by LUX on Kongens Nytorv.

The installation evokes spiritual awakening. Beyond appearances, the eyes can see too much, but they can also see nothing. Without light, you can't see, and with your eyes closed, you can only see darkness. Although piercing, luminous and monumental, Les yeux offers a simple, minimalist experience that sends out a message of sobriety. The work invites people to "open their eyes" to our consumerist world and the need to change it, to the challenges facing humanity: climate change, loss of biodiversity, environmental degradation....

LUX is a duo of French artists, made up of Simon Chevalier and Lucile Cassassolles. They are taking part in the festival for the fourth year running with the support of the French Institute of Denmark and for the first time with that of the European Environment Agency.
