Copenhagen Photo Festival
The Copenhagen Photo Festival opens its doors to celebrate its 15th anniversary this year. It's the biggest photo festival in the Nordic countries, taking place from 6 to 16 June on the island of Refshaleøen.
To mark the occasion, the Institut Français du Danemark is supporting the visit of French artist Chloé Milos Azzopardi, who will be leading a workshop “crafting compositions” during the festival.
One of Chloé Azzopardi’s expertises lies in seamlessly blending contemporary design with the timeless beauty of organic materials, closely linked to her photographic project combining science fiction, poetry and reflections on the ecological crisis. In this workshop, attendees will learn knotting techniques, they will craft imaginary structures using natural elements and stage them in futuristic photographic sceneries.
With this workshop, attendees will learn more about the beauty and sustainability of organic materials such as wood, stone, ice and earth. From understanding the properties of different materials to mastering construction techniques, participants will gain practical skills that can be applied to other projects. They will learn how to link different media to create photographic fiction, mixing construction, performance, storytelling and photography. Attendees will also have a deeper appreciation for the symbiotic relationship between art and the environment.
Participants will come back home with their personal work of art.
NB: When buying the workshop ticket you also get a festival Ticket.
