Panel Nikolaj Kunsthal - Fremtidens byer
As part of the group exhibition "Kunstnernes København" - taking place on the occasion of the World Capital of Architecture - renowned French-Lebanese architect Lina Ghotmeh will visit Nikolaj Kunsthal to discuss her work and vision for the future of cities - especially in light of the impact of climate change. Together with Malene Ratcliffe, CEO of SUPERFLEX, and artist Kaspar Bonnén, the conversation will address the different ways in which architects and artists can collaborate to make cities more sustainable and inclusive in order to create positive narratives about what life in urban environments will look like in the city in the future. The conversation will be moderated by TBA.
𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗚𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗵 During her architectural studies at the American University of Beirut, Lina explored notions of memory, space and landscape through her own methodology "Archaeology of the Future". After graduating and being awarded both the Azar and Areen prizes, Lina continued her education at the École Spéciale d'Architecture in Paris. She is the recipient of several awards, including the Schelling Architecture Prize (2021), the Tamayouz "Woman of Outstanding Achievement" Award in 2020, the French Fine Arts Academy Cardin Award in 2019, the French Academy Dejean Prize in 2016, the Grand Prix Afex in 2016 and the AJAP Prize of the French Ministry of Culture in 2008. In 2021, she was appointed Professor Member of the IAA International Academy of Architecture. Lina regularly shares her multicultural experiences with the public through conferences and lectures and participates in juries and workshops around the world.
𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲 𝗼𝗴 𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗟𝗘𝗫 Malene Ratcliffe has been the CEO of SUPERFLEX since 2015. SUPERFLEX was founded in 1993 by Jakob Fenger (1968), Bjørnstjerne Christiansen (1969) and Rasmus Rosengren Nielsen (1969). As an extended collective, SUPERFLEX has consistently worked with alternative models for the creation of social and economic organisation with a wide range of collaborators, from gardeners to engineers to audience members.
𝗞𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿 𝗕𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗻𝗲́𝗻 Kaspar Bonnén (1968) is a Danish visual artist. His primary art form is painting, but he also works in installation and sculpture. He has also published a number of poetry collections with the publishing house Borgen.
"𝗞𝘂𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗞ø𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗻" Artists' Copenhagen is the title of a group exhibition that zooms in on representations of the city through the eyes of artists. The exhibition takes place on the occasion of the World Capital of Architecture and includes contributions from Molly Haslund, Asmund Havsteen-Mikkelsen, Kaspar Bonnén, Skjold Rambow, SUPERFLEX, Uffe Isolotto, Sahar Jamili and others.
