Ecofeminism - French sociologist Geneviève Pruvost in Copenhagen
Thursday, 12. March, at 3.30 pm, French sociologist Geneviève Pruvost will give a lecture titled “What does an ecofemnist household look like? Subsistence Feminism Versus Universality” at CaPe (Center for Applied Ecological Thinking).
Lecture in English - Introduction by Anne-Sofie Dichman, Political Science Researcher
The term “housewife” emerged alongside the rise of the capitalism and, consequently, ecological degradation. What does it mean to carry out domestic tasks in a era of the climate crisis. Why do we need to reinvent the term “housewife”? And why is the concept of “the universal” problematic for ecofeminism?
In this lecture, Geneviève Provost will explore the idea of an ecofeministic household and what form it might take.
This event is organized by the research network “Histories and Futures of French Travelling Concepts” in collaboration with CaPe.
